This scholarship will directly help me by providing the work boots and tools I need for my drafting and design career. Having proper, high‑quality boots and reliable tools is essential for working safely and effectively, especially in hands-on and field-related environments. My name is Efrain Limas, and I want to sincerely thank you for selecting me as a recipient of the Ivan’s Boots Scholarship. It truly means a lot to me, and I’m very grateful for your generosity and support.
I am currently studying Process Technology at Alvin Community College, and receiving this scholarship takes a huge weight off my shoulders financially. It allows me to focus more on my education and my son at home.
I also wanted to share something personal. I took a moment to look at Ivan’s picture, and I noticed he was wearing a Pokémon hat. That really stood out to me. I grew up watching Pokémon, and seeing that small detail made me feel unexpectedly connected and a little sentimental. It reminded me that behind this scholarship is a real person with their own story and personality, and that made this opportunity feel even more meaningful to me.
I plan to use this award to purchase boots for my program, and if there are any funds left, I’d like to put it toward a lunch bag or something helpful for new employees at my job. I want to make the most of this opportunity and also find a way to give back in a small way.

My name is Alberto Beltran Rodriguez. I am a United States veteran of the United States Navy and a student at Alvin College enrolled in the Process Technology program.
I want to personally thank you for the scholarship and the opportunity it gave me to be able to purchase new steel toed boots for my internship at Enterprise. My boots that I had before were burned due to molten metal at my previous job. Once again, thank you for the opportunity and everything it has done for me.

I am Lamberto Rocha, I’m 19 years old, and I currently just got accepted into an internship with Phillips 66 as a Process Operator intern. I would like to thank you very much for your generosity as now thanks to y’all, I can buy some new work boots as I enter the workforce.
Hopefully with some new boots, I can work very hard without worrying about my feet hurting and show Phillips 66 how hardworking I am so that hopefully in the future once my internship is over, I can be rolled over from an intern to a full-time process operator. Once again, thank you.
